What Are Cremated Remains Made Of?

Cremated remains are often referred to as “ashes", when in fact it is granulated bone.

During the cremation process, a machine heats up the body to an extreme temperature. Bone and trace amounts of metals in the body from implants or fillings are what is left. The bones are ground down and run through a system removing the metals. The result is a collection of very fine bone fragments, weighing a few pounds.
