The Jeep Wrangler Urn
When you lose someone you love, one of the things you generally want to do is honor and memorialize them in some way. A custom urn can help with that, and give you a place to store their cremains while also showcasing what was important to them in life. With nearly unlimited options for 3D-printed cremation urns, you can dream up a design that feels right for your loved one.

About the Jeep Wrangler Urn
The Jeep Wrangler urn was created for a customer who wanted to memorialize her lost loved one with a replica of the bright orange Jeep that he drove. This urn was sized to hold a standard adult's ashes, so it was large and rather hefty. We met a tight deadline to deliver this urn to a funeral home, but the rapid shipping left it with a piece broken. However, with our commitment to customer satisfaction, we worked with our customer to repair the urn and got it back to pristine condition.
Inspiration
Our customer sent photos of her loved one's original Jeep, which had clearly been adored as it was decked out with modifications and stickers. We recreated this vehicle down to the details, from the bright orange color to the decals and even the custom license plate. It was important that everything matched correctly and truly represented our customer's lost loved one.
Process
Creating the Model
Creating any 3D-printed model starts with software programs for modeling. This can take some time, especially with an urn that has a lot of small details to it. While the painting and finishing touches truly bring those out, it's important to ensure the modeling process captures any details that need to be part of the original printing. We always make sure to show our customers a proof and get their approval before we begin the printing process.

Printing
It can take up to 24 hours to print an urn, depending on the size of it and the level of detail required. Some urns also have to be printed in multiple pieces beyond just having a lid, usually because the size of the planned piece is larger than our 3D printer's powder bed. This Jeep Wrangler urn was one such case of a large urn, and it was printed in two halves to be assembled together.
Post-Printing Process
Quality checks, hardening, and clean-up are all part of the post-printing process. Getting the urn design just right is vital to having happy customers who are getting what they expect, so we carefully go over every little detail before the urn moves to painting.
Painting
To make the Jeep look as realistic as possible, there was a lot of careful painting involved. The bright orange body and black tires were only the start, as we then had to focus on all the detail that would complete the urn.
Final Touches
Stickers and other custom touches were a big part of this urn. From the license plate and tire cover on the back to the smiley face light covers and windshield sticker on the front, the Jeep needed to look like the pictures that were provided to us.
Urn Details

This urn had a significant amount of detail, including the Jeep logo and the smiley face light covers. These covers are seen on a lot of Jeeps, and they were an important part of the realism of this specific urn.
Another important detail was the customized license plate that matched the customer's loved one's Jeep, along with the POW MIA tire cover on the back. We opted to use crisp printed decals to help us recreate these details.

We also used a decal on the front windshield, just above the wipers. The Orange Crush decal was on the original Jeep, and we wanted to make sure we recreated it for the urn.
Gallery
Along with all the painting and detailing work that went into this urn, the precision of the stickers and decals helps bring this urn to life to fully match the pictures our customer sent to us.
Behind the Scenes
From the initial model created on the computer, through the printing process, and into the painting and detail work, every custom 3D-printed urn is carefully crafted, and this orange Jeep Wrangler urn was no exception.
